The annual spring school offers a compact, deep insight into the concepts
computational data and information exploration in the Life Sciences. As
we all know, there is no research without data. While a plethora of
methods and tools is available on the Internet,
the knowledge to choose the right concept is not that common.

The course joins a well established international group of lecturers
presenting key areas of bioinformatics and systems biology such as
bioinformatics resources, network concepts, information exploration and
Next Generation Sequencing. The course is intended
for Ph.D. students and Post-docs. Five days of lectures and
demonstrations give a comprehensive overview on the latest developments
in the field. There are no special prerequisites to participate, but a
sound knowledge of basic methods such as basic sequence
analysis and genome structure is helpful. There is time for intense
discussion with the members of the faculty.

Please register early, the number of participants is limited to 35.

Prerequisites for participation:
Participants should have some very basic knowledge in bioinformatics, basic knowledge
of genome structure, and be familiar with the very basics of molecular databases. There
are no formal requirements.

Fee and registration:
Ca. € 650 (including tuition, course material, room and board for the whole duration of
the event, bus transfer from Munich/Neuherberg to Bertinoro). The course fee for
HELENA Graduate School students will be covered by the respective Graduate Schools.
