Glycoscience is a highly interdisciplinary field that explores the structures and functions of sugars and promises great advances in areas as diverse as medicine, biotechnology, and material science. It has long been part of the research of the Department of Nanobiotechnology. To honor this tradition, represented by retiring ao. Prof. Paul Messner, the Institute for Biologically inspired Materials invites all interested to participate in an international Minisymposium on Bacterial glyobiology. The seminar will take place on the 22^nd of September with renowned local and international invited speakers, who all have contributed to the research on nanoglycobiology pioneered at the Department of Nanobiotechnology by Paul Messner and Christina Schäffer. Thus, you can expect a diverse and multidisciplinary overview of the many facets of bacterial glycobiology that inspire our past and future research.
