Club Biotech would like to invite you to our semester kick-off lecture

Life Sciences and Entrepreneurship

Kindly supported by the Entrepreneurship Center Network (ECN) and in the context of the Gründen in Wien event series, we are going to take a closer look at two biotechnology start-ups in order to provide answers concerning the development of an idea to its implementation at enterprise level. An insight into the up-and-coming fields of research of the following companies will not be missed out.


TAmiRNA – stability for life is a Viennese biopharmaceutical R&D corporation with the aim to develop tools for early diagnosis of age-based cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases using microRNAs.

Hookipa Biotech – The Wave of New Vaccines was also founded in Vienna and specialises in the development of viral vaccines. Their focus of research lies on infectious diseases as well as cancer and is supported by a novel vector platform.

In addition we would like to present you the interdisciplinary BOKU lecture course 791009 Die Garage. Participating students are offered the possibility to become acquainted to and also to apply methods for developing business ideas. A business concept is designed in teams with the help of course instructors and external mentors and finally presented to a jury of potential investors and experts.


We are looking forward to welcoming you to the lecture and to closing the evening with inspiring conversations. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
