Scientist (m/f) in Improving Plant Vigor

You will work in an international research team to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying stress tolerance and to explore such approaches for innovative crop improvement strategies.

You will evaluate the significance and robustness of metabolic enzyme activities for plant resilience under different environmental conditions.
-
You will transfer fundamental knowledge on stress responses and tolerance from model plants to crops.
-
You will apply a combination of genetic, biochemical and physiological methods to investigate signal transduction and metabolic adjustments in response to environmental stress.

You will develop enzyme-based approaches for improving plant resilience and seed characteristics under fluctuating environmental conditions.

You will work together with partners from both academia and industry including international collaborations.

With your innovative work you will contribute to gain new insights into plant stress tolerance mechanisms and bring them into application.

As experienced researcher you will co-supervise and support undergraduate and doctoral students.

You will write project proposals in collaboration with academic and industrial partners and your results will play a key role in ongoing and future (contract) research projects.
Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
-
A PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline.

A profound theoretical and practical knowledge in protein biochemistry and plant physiology. Solution-oriented expertise, communication skills, high commitment and motivation.

Experience in acquisition of third-party funding and project management.

Experience with contract research is an advantage.
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 44.786,-. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer company benefits, flexible working conditions, individual training and career opportunities.
