Master Thesis “Investigation of chemical communication with Trichoderma reesei”

Start date: 1st of november

IMAGINE

  • Trichoderma reesei is known as a biotechnological workhorse for enzyme industry and in the field of biofuels. Recently, chemical communication with mating partners and other fungi was detected for Trichoderma reesei.

 

ENGAGE

  • We are investigating the means of communication of Trichoderma reesei and its consequences for primary and secondary metabolism in Trichoderma reesei as well as in beneficial and harmful fungi.

 

ACHIEVE

  • Microbiological and molecular biological analysis including RTqPCR and transformations
  • Plate assays
  • Growth tests
  • Chromatographic methods
  • Secondary metabolite analysis.

 

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner (m/f):

  • Studies in biotechnology, biology or a related field
  • Knowledge in working with microbes
  • Experience with molecular biological techniques (PCR, working with nucleic acids)
  • Accuracy in laboratory work
  • Enthusiasm for scientific work
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate on different topics
  • Fluent language skills in English (spoken and written)


What to expect: 
EUR 1.385 gross per month for 38,5 hours/week based on the collective agreement. There will be additional company benefits. As a research institution, we are familiar with the supervision and execution of Master theses and we are looking forward to supporting you accordingly! 

The starting date for this master thesis is the 1st of november 2019.
