Traditionell fand im Vorfeld wieder ein Student Workshop statt und eine anregende Podiumsdiskussion. Bei der Eröffnungszeremonie eingeleitet vom ÖGMBT Präsident Josef Glößl haben Harald Kainz, Rektor der TU Graz und Birgit Strimitzer-Riedler, Leiterin der Abteilung Wissenschaft und Gesundheit des Landes Steiermark die Bedeutung der Life Sciences betont und die Tagung eröffnet.
Danach folgten zahlreiche hochkarätige Vorträge von eingeladenen Sprecher/Innen und Forscher/Innen statt. Zu jeder Session gab es Keynote Lectures und Short Talks. Das Organisationskomitee stellte ein hervorragendes und vielfältiges Programm zu den wissenschaftlichen Themenschwerpunkten zusammen.
